Racing against the clock, on a course defined by traffic cones, in a huge parking lot. Autocross, or AutoX, is a safe, low cost way to get into competing with your car. It is also a safe way to learn the dynamics of your car in a controlled environment.
I highly recommend coming out and at least checking the event out. You'll need a helmet and BMW CCA membership to compete. The membership is like $40 a year, and comes with tons of benefits from car purchase rebates to 20% at most dealership parts and service counters. The current rebate on the 1 series is $500. So when you buy a new car, as a BMW CCA member you get cash back. Kinda bitchen' if you ask me.
