Thanks for this thread!!! just did it...I had the latter version that had to be drilled out - very easy soft aluminum! literally 10 minutes for the whole job.
once it was drilled out:
after I jacked up the car, loosened the 3 nuts, and pushed the strut towards the center of the car:
I gained a bit more on the passenger side...but about ~1/4" movement.
going for an alignment today. considering if I should slot the holes a bit more to get more camber.
