Don't forget the E36 M3 LTW, which removed:
air conditioning
leather seats
sunroof
radio
took kit
interior noise reduction mats
underhood insulation
trunk panel insulation
forged wheels
spare tire and jack
and added aluminum doors and special thin carpeting. (Talking weight only here, leaving out the hand picked engines, ECU changes, diff changes, and trunk of competition only parts...)
Yet these pure, lightweight (200-300 lbs lighter than an E36 M3) sat on dealer lots forever and were drastically reduced in price to sell.
And coincidentally, that was the last M3 CSL offered for sale in the US. Can you blame BMW?
