It mounts the caliper to the caliper bracket, Then caliper bracket to spindle.

i would venture to guess that although the caliper wouldnt move at first, it would put alot of strain on the other bolt, espically in spirited driving..

NOTE to all !!! only >>>> ONE <<<<< person broke one bolt and it was due to installation issue ( possible overtighten ??? ) the only reason that the rest of us jumped on the bandwagon is that we had concern as we all were removing the caliper in the same way... over and over more for track / street pad swaps...

just wanted to be clear and not start hystreria..
