I actually did go this route earlier this year on my 128i with the performance brake kit: ECS by Stop Tech, 2 pc drilled/slotted up front and slotted/drilled in the back . Figuring out which rotor application to use on the rears was complicated (they are the same as the standard 128i rotors). I went with EBC Red Stuff pads for lower dust, but they are really good with initial bite and overall braking. The tech who did the install was quite impressed. I would NOT use this set up for track as the Red Stuff pads will fade after multiple stops. In fact, they faded badly during the bedding process. My car is street use/DD, so I won't reach that kind of brake temp in normal driving.

One thing I want to add here is that I complained about inconsistent and sometimes mushy pedal feel to both the dealer and my indy. Both claimed it was normal operation. When this set up was installed (with braided hoses), I insisted that the ABS system was also bled. This made ALL the difference as I now have a very solid/firm pedal, consistent height, and no mushiness!
