I'm running the same 18x8 et 40 all around, with 235/40/18
At the front it works. Tight to the fender lip, but it works. No spacers. About -2 deg camber. Also have M3 arms which push the bottom of the wheel outboard a bit. I think you will be fine.
At the rear, the tire will rub the inner fender liner, just inside the fender lip, at full bump. To the point where it has worn through in a couple of places.
I think you will find that an 18x9 et40, with a 255 tire, on a slightly lowered car will hit the fender lip at less than full bump.
