A few folks thought I was being too confrontational like waving a red flag in front of those on the road that could eat a 1er alive - but I find the implied challenge has been a lot of fun and stimulated a lot of good car conversations - as well as leads to good tracks and good mechanics etcetera.

Just last week a guy in a new Camaro rolled up next to me at a light with a big smile on his face. Instead of a throw down he rolled down his window, asked I'f I'd taken the 1 to Watkins Glen yet and informed me there is a driving school this (next) weekend. Then he added the name of the only place in town he'd trust his wheels to commenting on my black Breytons.

Would that have happened with a plate that had EFG7632 on it? Who knows.
