Bmw is so fond of trying to copy Apples fanatical support from their followers. Why not take a page from their book via a vis the iPhone SE and just take a well loved older form factor and continue to produce it ?

Just take the e82, stuff a new version of idrive in there and you are good to go. Keeps everyone happy.

Probably not enough factory capacity. But that would be something.
