A word of warning about Del Puerto Canyon Road... At least as of October of 2012, Stanislaus County let the road really go. Looks like fun on a map, but it's littered with potholes large and small just East of the Santa Clara County border almost to Frank Raines Park. Dodging one pothole on my Beemer I hit an even larger one, bending both rims and snapping off my right saddle bag. Don't be tempted by the squiggles on the map. Also for the uninitiated, there are one-lane sections of Mines Road South of Livermore. Just a heads up.

I went and they did a lot of work to the toad. However. The roads are a bit choppy tones of swoops in hard corners.. It did help iron out so bad spots in my fender roll and pull. There is a new drive 4/5/14 hwy 9 and then up 1 back north.. Pm me for details
