To answer your question - no I don't think it would be too low. The B12 kit is not known as the lowest out there, I think for example Swift springs are lower by a few mm. It really depends on your daily drive cycle, I don't recall scraping anywhere including speed bumps and driveways. So 5mm lower (without the plates) *may* have scraped once or twice compared to what I have, but I doubt it.

The camber plates themselves are not that expensive, and are maintenance free. They will improve your front end grip considerably and allow you to run spacers to fill up the wheel arches up front. So consider those...
