Looking forward to seeing the pictures and route details when you post them! As a former BMW CCA Lone Star chapter member and current Wasatch (i.e. Utah) chapter member, I should have joined you for part of the trip. As it happened, I did the Monument Valley <--> Eastern AZ drive this month as well, so I must have missed you all by only a few days. I hope you enjoyed southern Utah; it's as amazing as northern Utah but in a completely different way.
