i'm on call tomorrow AM too.....so will be back on the road at 6am!
the 135is is pretty decent in the snow with these Nokian Snow Tires. Never got stuck anywhere....although had a few areas where the tail end started fishing all over the place----but just letting go of the throttle generally fixed it. Had the DSC off some of the time, and on other times, depending on the situation.
All in all, as my first RWD car------the 1er doesn't disappoint! is a lot of fun and easy to drive with confidence. You are 100% right about 'other people' though-----they can be QUITE scary
