I put this pump in my car a couple months ago. Tear down was pretty straight forward. I think there are three (though there may be four) brackets holding the inners of the stock pump to the bucket, definitley cracked the bucket next to one of them, but that was it. They took a little bit more force than I would have thought to get out. I used a tweaker screwdriver and a pick followed by a bigger screwdriver if that helps.
