in my E85 Z4 my water pump failed and the car went into limp mode. I of course only drove it like a few 1000 feet after that and shut it down and called Road Side Assistance. No harm at all to the engine or anythng. Now if i were going on a long trip then that might have been an issue.
I am waiting on my E89 Z4 and my E82 1 to do the same thing. (more fearful than anything as it is like rolling dice - 7 - 7 i need a 7 ohhh crap blown the head gasket kinda dice playing)
