I suggest using the 1M strut bar because it is a direct fit on E82 cars without needing any modification of the plastic components. If you choose the M3 version there is work needed to create sufficient clearance to fit the alloy fork in the centre section.
The advantage of the M3 version is that its made entirely from alloy. The 1M version has alloy strut top yokes from the M3, but uses steel tubes similar to the basic E82 version. Weight difference will be very minimal IMO.
