When I bought my 2008 e88 n52, I had a 2006 Suzuki SUV that was my daily driver. It got up to 150K or so in miles and I gave it to my son more than a year ago. We put a hitch on my e88 and I have been driving it daily. But I now have three grandkids and my daughter says the back seat is not big enough for car seats. I've done it with a family friends child but it is challenging.

So I will probably buy a crew cab pickup next month. The logic for that is perhaps not obvious but I also want to avoid using a trailer to haul most things. That will let me shift the e88 back to more occasional usage. It almost has 100K miles now but I think if I drop the miles back it may survive as long as I do. If not, I will have to decide what to do then.

My SUV was a manual but I plan an automatic for the pickup (the model I will probably get can be ordered with a manual, however). I certainly know how to drive a manual after doing so for nearly 50 years but it's nice sometimes to not have to shift.
