I don't own snows yet and have been gambling driving mine a few times over the winter (in MN) and being careful it hasn't been an issue. They definitely have less traction in the cold, it's noticeable. I've been giving extra room between me and cars in front of me "just in case". But when the roads are dry, there's no ice, and the day is sunny I've been doing it. If your weather is anything like MN is right now I think you're good to go - and I normally am one to play it safe.
Just an opinion of course.
