The cheapest transmissions I could find online were for $1300-126K miles and $1800-76kmiles.
I found that post on ebay that bbnks2 posted and same to the same conclusion that it's not worth the hassle doing a transmission teardown and wasting time and money going down a dead end path. I'm just going to buy one of the transmissions I found online and roll with it. I might try to get the faulty transmission fixed and sell it to someone with the same issue later though.
