So here's a question that maybe you can answer, Dackel:

My 135i has 18" wheels with Michelin PSS tires on them. I occasionally head out hiking with a friend in remote places that might be 30 or 40 miles off of paved roads, on well maintained dirt/gravel roads. A couple of these areas are relatively isolated, and getting an irreparable flat tire could be very very bad.

I have a set of 17" Blizzaks on wheels that I use as winter tires. Unlike the PSS tires on the stock wheels, the winter set is square (front and rears the same). Could I simply take one of those Blizzaks with me in the car trunk while venturing out to one of these remote places, and use the Blizzak as a temporary spare in the case of a catastrophic flat?
