All 135i's come with the sport suspension. The sport package and M-sport package are optional, but the suspension is unaffected. Reportedly, there may be very minor suspension differences with the M-sport package.

Yes, it may have the sport package, but I believe the 3-series AWD cars don't offer a sport suspension, even with the sport package. In fact, just checked bmwusa.com and I am correct, AWD models don't offer the sport suspension, not even with the M-sport package. Point is, the 328xi you drove has the standard suspension, further enhancing your impression that your 135i is more "loosely" suspended.
