I am with you, thanks for the link. My previous car was registered in Louisiana and I had a real German plate in the front. Although I moved to Houston, I kept it registered in Louisiana. It was on my E46 ZHP. no holes drilled since I had a the proper trim piece for the plate. Police did not like my front plate one bit, but I did get a bunch of compliments from others.
My 12 135i vert I bought CPO already had he bracket in place, so not as much a big deal. If it would have bought it new, I would have gone with the tow hook bracket or no plate at ALL.
