I bought my 2013 128i MT6 "stripper," i.e. without any options at all apart from 18" wheels, leather seats and metalic paint, i.e. nothing to make it any more complicated than necessary. BMWs are (or can be) notoriously costly to keep, but it doesn't have to be that way, at least, not quite as much as if we get, and have to maintain, all the complicated electronics and other gear available. Sometimes I think BMW service departments must be where they make all their money! All I need is a motor, a gearshift and a place to sit (and a few other simple items), and I can have fun. And I can have MORE fun, if I know it's not eating too deeply into my bank account.
