It'll let you do it to a certain point of brake pressure, that's why it only does it to OP under hard braking. Just dragging the brakes will work fine. Both my stock 135 and S65 swapped car will definitely pull back the throttle if you really get into the brakes when also on the gas.
That said, I'm also not sure this is OPs issue, but it sounds like it.
