Is oil getting onto the pulley? Check for a leak.
Double check the routing. Seems like the picture in the OP is for the older 1855mm belt and the routing Sam posted is for the newer 1860mm belt? Let us know which length belt and which diagram you are using. Real OEM specs the 1860mm belt for all N55's. Only the older N54s seem to spec the shorter 1855mm belt.
