I think the easiest ways would be to either get the BimmerGeeks ProTools App or the Carly App. If you search around the forum you'll be able to find pros and cons as well as some general info on how they work. Short version is an app you download to a smart device, and an OBD II connection (usually a wireless dongle for simplicity).
