You're guess about rear brake temperatures could also be totally valid... If the e-diff is engaging, the car will guess what the rear brake temperatures are and if thinks they may be too hot it'll start to cut power. You can/should code all this nonsense off. There's a sticky at the top of the track forum on what to code off.
I read through that sticky. My plan is to code off e-diff system after getting MFactory LSD.
