The Brembos that come on our 135i cars are mostly show. They're pretty good on street, but they're not great for frequent track usage. A lot of 135i owners around here even switch to the 335i brakes, which don't look impressive, but are actually better.
I beg to differ. I circuit track my car at COTA and the oem 6 Piston Brembos with Yellow Stuff Track Pads with R1 Concept Slotted Rotors are freaking powerful.
The stock 135i calipers use ceramic piston inserts which crack and crumble to dust. It's been a well known and common issue since the car released in 2008. There's a couple other solutions to this besides swapping out new calipers. Stoptech makes a compatible piston and seal kit which eliminates the issue
