Not too sure about this. Every pic I've seen of N55 valves has shown the walnut blast turned out to be unnecessary.
My BMS catch can hasn't caught a single drop of oil in the past year. There is still some oil residue built up at the throttle body though. I'm sure my valves are black but I doubt there is any actual buildup of material like n54's see.
