I wouldn't consider either a "major" problem. I knew the water pump would die and some day strand me on the side the road. I chose not to preventatively replace it and try to squeeze as much life out of it as possible (76K as it turns out).
OFHG is an annoyance, mine failed 3 times in 20K miles.
Still running with the stock charge pipe. I expect that to eventually fail, but that's an expected problem.
