PS: You should replace your tires when they are older than five years old. Look at the(four digit week/year) tire build date on the sidewall. Even IF the tire has thread... replace after five years old.

I completely agree. And have consistently replaced my tires at or before the five year mark if they are not fully worn before. This was an exception because of the lack of driving.
