As long as the spare matches the rear diameter and speeds/inputs are kept within reason, the diff should be OK. I would drive on it like it was a donut tire, no more than 55mph, and no hard acceleration that might cause the diff to lock up or produce wheelspin. If the tire is narrow enough, there shouldn't be too much rubbing if it is needed up front. Full steering lock may be a issue.

Since I would be driving as described above, I'd save a few bucks and get a cheaper tire. Why buy a PSS for a spare?
