caustics thanks for that wonderful post! Your photos are amazing of those Alpina passes.

I am still not sure on where to drive. Part of me wants to drive Switzerland... but with a small group of cars, I think it might be too dangerous to our wallets IF we get caught speeding. In addition to the high speeding fines in Switzerland... the speed limit on those passes is 80 kph. IF the Swiss cops catch you driving more than +40 kph... they can confiscate your car. And they will!

I am thinking Italy/Austria might be better. I don't plan on breaking too many driving laws... but I know how things get when you get a bunch of car guys together on one of these road trips. I am not a fast driver... I am more of a mid pack kind of guy. IF we could come up with pre planned stops for lunch or breaks... that would be good for all of us to meet up at along the route.

Could you post a Google Maps link to your two day proposed drive. ?

I am thinking of a small drive in Italy right now. As for the dates... I am free from October 4th until October 13th. But IF there are enough guys who want to drive earlier than that... maybe you all should go without me. I have driven many of these passes so it's not a big deal IF I miss out on this, this year.

Here is the area in Italy I was thinking about driving. I would be driving down from Munich thru Kufstein and down the Grossglockner/Zell am See area.

Any thoughts ? I think I am missing my mental BFF Artemis in planning out these driving adventures.
