Got an answer, which confirms the hypothesis of only being a diffuser thing! Here's the reply I got:

Thanks for your inquiry. The system is a quad tip system and for the right hand side tips we offer a cut out template for the standard diffuser. You trace and cut out the right hand side to accommodate the tips. We do not provide this cut out for the M Sport which is why the site indicates not for M Sport.
You can purchase an aftermarket diffuser that would accommodate the quad tip set up.
