Don't think I've ever seen any aftermarket exhaust with purposely dented areas... I think that, as a general rule, aftermarket exhaust is as much about the art as it is function, and dents have no place in art when you're overpaying by that much...
The BMW PE exhaust- that counts as OE, not aftermarket. You can tell cause it's not polished...

The BMW PE is OEM, not OE. Most of my upgrades are. It's what I want on my car.
And who cares how shiny it is, it's under the car where you can't see it anyway. The PE is shiny where it counts - the tips.
More important than shiny stuff is I love the way it sounds and that makes it worth every penny to me.
Wasn't looking for a bargain, wanted great fit and quality, and great sound and that's what I got.
