Absolutely... not to mention that the 135 will be faster than an S54. I think it previously was stated that the 335i was equally a quick as the S54'd M3. Handling wise it was more nimble at VIR running 1 second faster than the Z4 M car.
I feel the same as you, I dont think an M coupe is needed simply because its already covered. Just put some M badges on the 135. Tradition of the M group has already changed (4 banger > straight 6, now V8). Who would have thought an M would get a V8?!
