Thanks, I'm pretty sure that's the pump on that side. But that plastic part I have there doesn't look anything like this HPFP.

The whole fuel pump assembly. The pump is part of the overall assembly. Its the assembly itself that is probably cracked. Its not uncommon on E46's and E90/E82's as it turns out. Search YouTube you'll see videos of the process.
