Hello,

I have an N54 135i that has stock downpipes, but an N55 midpipe. In multiple years of smogs, I've never had a tech jack up the car to check for the secondary cats, but this time he did. I failed smog and he reported it as "Tampered."

This is completely my fault, and I should've been more careful and put the N54 midpipe back on. Though, once I do and pass smog, is my car forever flagged?

I heard a rumor that I will now need to smog every year because it has been tampered with, is this true?
