slipkmaggot, that is correct. Shorter gearing will enable the car to accelerate faster, but will reduce the top speed. Someone on this or another thread calculated that the theoretical top speed of the auto gear ratio is 274kmh. Obviously in real world with drag etc it won't hit that, but it will still hit the 250kmh speed limiter. The down side of this is slightly higher fuel consumption.
