My BMW is indeed a 2010. I purchased my vehicle from a BMW dealership near my home. When we were in their service center looking at the vehicle, the BMW mechanic confirmed it was a single turbo, dual scroll engine.
I was happy I got the N55, but yeah, I don't have an explanation as to why the N55 was put in there.
