Can any one verify the above......

So any synthetic oil which is 0-40w,5-40w, 5-30w should be good.......

Am i right guys......

I have a E87, 118i (2005) ......

No! Not only those oil weights... but the oil ALSO must meet BMW specs:

Long Life 1 or Long Life 4 rated, PLUS it also must be of least API SM/CF, ACEA C2, C3. LL-4 can be used where LL-1 is spec'd for. But LL-1 can not be used for LL-4 areas.

LL-1 = high sulfur fuel (USA/Canada/Mex/Austrailia/ect...)
LL-4 = low sulfur fuel (Germany/ECE)

BMW says to use an oil that meets the above oil specs (API SM/CF, ACEA C2, C3; LL-1 or LL-4) and that comes in a 5w30, 0w30, or 0w40 weight.
