Similar symptoms to the eccentric shaft sensor going bad that I experienced. Mine eventually threw that code. Have you done a valve cover gasket job recently? If you look at the valve cover towards the front of the car there is a circular gasket for the connector to the sensor. If that is deteriorated or an oily mess the sensor may be the culprit.
It's not a cheap job however as the sensor is $300 ish and you have to open the valve cover; so probably need to know that's the root cause for sure before going after it.
