How much difference do lightweight wheels and non-rft's make?

Hi All,

Am considering what to do for my next modification. I have the following ideas, am probably leaning towards wheels/tyres at this stage:

1. Lightweight wheel and ultra high performance (RE11's or something like that) wheel/tyre combo.
2. Header back exhaust system with high flow cats.
3. Custom modified intake manifold. (maybe, kinda need exhaust with this option too, infact no.4 as well so a very expensive process)
4. Computer retune.
5. Upgraded brakes - 2nd hand 135i probably cheapest option

I figure given the car's a nice weight to start with, it'd perform even better in the turns with lighter weight wheels and stickier rubber, which is a more important improvement to me than straight line performance.

Just wondering how others have found new wheels and tyres to effect the handling of the car and general feel?

Thanks
