They were white, a little gunky. The oil was still spotless and still looked new at 55k. However it was just easy daily driving, no track time. The filter comes with a new o-ring similar to engine oil filters.

So what did you use to clean the gasket and pan? Just a little dish soap and water? My pan was replaced probably 5k miles ago so I am assuming the gasket is still in good condition. I'm pretty sure the dealership reused the oil in the transmission though, so I'm thinking about servicing it.
