I suppose it was inevitable. 0029CD

About 2 minutes into my commute this AM, the engine started showing the classic signs of a misfile followed by the "service engine soon" light.

A quick Carly code showed the above error.

I had anticipated this not long after purchasing the car, but I didn't expect it less than 3 weeks into ownership.

I already ordered coils and plugs (even if it's not a coil, I want them anyway) and will be doing it within a few days.

I've seen topics about carbon cleaning. Does anyone have a writeup that they can share? Or is it just a matter of running a can of the Liqui-Moly equivalent to Seafoam through the system?

My plan is to swap the coil for #2 to verify fault. The valve cover was replaced just before I purchased it, but I don't know if the plugs were. (I got replacement plugs too.

I'm fairly competent under the hood, though I am new to BMW.

The procedure looks straight forward if not a little fiddly.

Any advice on what to expect?
