Really, I don't think good coils should be considered a consumable. Where are you getting your replacements from?

My E85 had 200,000 miles on the original coils and even my current Z4 with the notorious N54 coil eater is doing better than that. I have 30k on four coils and 60k on the remaking two originals. That's a tuned N54 pulling around 15lbs of boost.

In retrospect, many of the repeated failures on my E85 were self induced by cheap sub standard parts. Bad Gebo, oil cooler gasket, alternator, idler puller and such. I ran the car on a really tight budget and some purchases were not that wise.
