Quite agree, no good saying keep the car in secure car parks etc. Need to disable/protect the ODB. I've covered mine in gaffer/brown tape so it would need to be picked off. But its no definitive cure.
This alarm issue needs looking into. A collective letter to BMW? Warrant a recall?
