I'm not running PSS, but I am running those tire sizes on my stock 261s, lowered with Eibach Pro-Kits, and not rubbing at all. If you're at stock ride head I'm confident you'll be fine.
Not sure on the risk of damage part. It certainly can't be good for the tires...
