Good advice. Anyone planning on traveling should have a passport. They're good for 10 years and can save your butt in a lot of situations. After this coming October, if you don't have a Real ID driver's license, you can't even board a plane in the US unless you happen to have a passport with you. Passports are easy to get and cheap. No reason not to have one.
