Photoshoot of HP Autowerks 1M and Updates *Too Much Good Stuff*

We received our 1M in May and ever since then we have been working to make it even better than what it is. We didn’t have to do the M suspension conversion or Quaife differential since M Division finally caught on to us and decided to make this car. I think we and 1addicts showed them that there is demand for a smaller M car. It’s also the same reason that M suspension components have almost tripled since we first discovered that they could be fitted to the 335i. It is great that BMW finally offers a smaller car that comes with M bits from the factory but there is still much that can be improved upon.

The stock suspension is no slouch but can be better. We addressed this area with a set of AST 4200 coilovers outfitted with Swift Springs and topped off with Vorshlag camber plates. The before and after is drastic. We significantly reduced body roll and picked up even more responsiveness and road feedback than the car already had off of the showroom floor.

We then moved on to the brakes. We fitted a massive 380x35MM Stoptech Trophy kit on the front and a 355x35MM Stoptech Trophy kit on the rear. Once again, some people believe that stock can’t be beat or the difference is negligible, but we challenge you to drive this car with the Trophy’s and still be content with stock.

The engine is still under development. We have currently finished the preliminary stage 1 tune at GIAC with impressive results. Stage 2 will be adding a larger FMIC, downpipes, and a high flow intake as the N54 bottlenecks a bit.

Lastly, we have something that we are extremely excited about. We have teamed up with SLeK to be the official distributor of their new line of carbon fiber bits for the 1M. Their first product is the lip you see in the pictures. It is extremely well made and you almost want to mount it on the wall rather than subject it to street use.

If you are interested in this lip, please check out the for sale thread:
