For all the IOS fans - let me ask you a question in the same way Apple would when it comes to updating my device:

Q: Is Android is better than IOS?
A: [Yes] [Read more about how Android is better] [Ask me again later]

Now, with that said, let me get on to some android bashing.

Every iPhone is the same. Every update is only minor. This is great for simplify of user experience and great for tech support (if I'm talking someone through setting up bluetooth, I know where it is in the settings.) This is awful if you want to customize your phone; and it's a little bit awful for Apple, because there's very little reason for me to fork out for a new iPhone X when my iPhone 4S works just fine.

Every Android is different. It's up to the hardware manufacturer to customize Android, so they move menus around - and when google release updates, it's a significant change - which means "yay, new features" but "argh, I have to set everything up again."

The good news is with Android (generally speaking) you have the option of "fuck off and never remind me to update again", which you don't on iPhone.

Also, while every phone being different is annoying for tech support and iPhone fans; it's generally a non-issue for Android owners, because it doesn't matter that your phone is different from someone else's - it's your phone, and you know how to use it.

Same as driving a BMW - my wife says the indicator stalk is on the wrong side in my car... I say it's on the wrong side in everybody else's cars.
